Divya Khosla Kumar, Bollywood Actress and Director, said, What a superb initiative this is why must women be ashamed of their shape or size? Embrace who you are and what you are, confidence is all that matters to carve your identity and niche. Designer clothing should come in all sizes why just for a certain body type? Why must plus size women not be categorised as models? This initiative by Lakmé Fashion Week shows us what beauty is all about and is true women empowerment in all senses. Women all over are breaking barriers, setting themselves free and are all geared up to cherish being themselves, being us! Remember happy girls are the prettiest!”

Shilpa Chavan, the designer said“As someone who has never followed trends, and designed and created on intuition, I fail to understand how fashion gets licensed to decide what’s less or more. Beauty truly lies within and there is no better way to affirm this than with a plus size show with aLL at LakméFashion Week. I am excited and above all proud to be involved in this movement of sorts.”

Jaspreet Chandok, Vice President and Head, Fashion, IMG Reliance Pvt. Ltd, said,  I think it’s a fantastic first step towards greater inclusiveness in fashion. We’re elated with the response received today and look forward to seeing the winners walking the ramp with panache and confidence.”

Business Head (Manish Aziz), aLL The Plus Size store said, The response has been absolutely phenomenal with over 160 participants showing up for our auditions. aLL – The Plus Size Store has been focused on catering to the plus-size audience for over a decade now and seeing the number of people who have shown confidence to hit the runway comfortable in their own skin, is just reinforcement that the Indian fashion industry is poised for the plus-size movement. I’m certain the show will prove to be a great success.”

Lubna Adams, Fashion Choreographer, said, “It’s a superb initiative by Lakmé Fashion Week to have a plus size show. It’s about time, the focus shifted from zero to plus of the real world. Fashion needs to be for everyone and I’m sure every real woman out there is going to love this acceptance on the LFW platform.”

The Lakmé Skin & Hair Expert hosted a bespoke masterclass for the 10 winners where they were mentored on complete skin and haircare.
